Follow and praise — these are the lightworkers you need to get to know, pronto.
– KEYS SOULCARE
Our beloved lightworker community is filled with amazing creators, doers, connectors, and leaders reshaping our world. Today, we’re highlighting a few of our favorite Black forces of nature who are breaking down barriers and creating safer, more inclusive spaces for all of us in the process.
Read on for five must-follow lightworkers who are changing the game for the better and keeping our feeds joy-full, every single day.
1. Lalah Delia
Best-selling author, wellness educator, and spiritual practitioner Lalah Delia continues to elevate us through her offerings on Vibrate Higher Daily, which has courses for releasing low vibrational behaviors and coping with loneliness. Whether through affirming tweets or giving us #BTS looks at how she puts her words into practice, her personal brand of soulcare has made self-care and self-love something worth sharing. Case in point: this sweet note accompanied by her surprise engagement.
2. Deesha Philyaw
Deesha Philyaw’s debut collection of short stories called The Secret Lives of Church Ladies put this award-winning writer at the top of readers’ must-follow lists. With HBO Max and Tessa Thompson leading the production of the film adaptation of her best-seller, she’s garnering what we predict is just the start of a wave of even more well-deserved attention.
3. Chrissy Rutherford
Part fashion icon, part fashion editor, and 100% Pisces, Chrissy Rutherford is a stylistic dream. When she’s not making her followers fall head over heels with unrivaled #OOTDs, she’s helping brands participate in a more equitable and inclusive world via 2BG Consulting, which she co-founded with fellow fashion expert and creator Danielle Prescod. And if that wasn’t enough? She’s also launched her own style-packed newsletter, FWD Joy.
4. Gina Danza
The photo artist also known as @WildGina is a Black woman creating her own lane in an industry dominated by white men. As a nature photographer, Gina left the corporate world behind to make stunning images through her Sony lens. It’s an impressive feat for this trailblazing lightworker to bring a new perspective to brands like Eddie Bauer and L.L. Bean — not to mention her own indie print shop!
5. Alex Elle
Alex Elle’s teachings, written works, and spoken words are always a community favorite — including her daily reminders and affirmations on her IG. The wellness educator and author has recently been taking followers on her daily walks and sharing sneak peeks of her sabbatical as she travels and works on her next book. And, as if following Alex alone isn’t a serious dose of soulcare? Her latest venture, a just-launched breath and voice-driven platform called @makingspacemeditation, reminds us how gentle, mindful nudges can seriously level-up your sense of peace.
