Check out the websites, apps, and platforms keeping our team attuned to inner peace.
– KEYS SOULCARE
Meditation is one of our all-time fave topics; it’s a fantastic way to condition our minds to tune out the outside noise and connect with our inner selves.
Something else we love about meditation? A new crop of apps and platforms are making it even easier to get our zen on. Here are four platforms our team is loving right now. Whether you’re a meditation pro or giving it a try for the very first time, you’re bound to find the right platform for your needs.
Insight Timer
“It’s my new FAVE,” says our account manager Ari, who swears by the (free!) app and platform that features notable speakers like Lalah Delia and Elizabeth Gilbert. “Every morning for 10 minutes. My go-to is Zen guitar ambient sound, with a ‘basu bell’ as my ending tone.”
Calm
“How can you not love an app that features curated sessions with Lebron James and Harry Styles for getting ready for the day or drifting off to sleep?” says content director Tiffany Davis. We also love their playlists, which are searchable by mood, time of day, or artists from Ellie Goulding to Sam Smith.
Headspace
“What’s so cool about the Headspace App is that it gently guides you along in the basics of meditation for just 10 or 15 minutes a day, so it can become a truly pleasurable habit,” says Margit, our editorial director. (Fun fact: The wildly popular app was founded by meditation and mindfulness expert, and Tibetan Buddhist monk, Andy Puddicombe.)
Ten Percent Happier
“It’s an extension of the book by Dan Harris, whose pragmatic approach to mindfulness really resonated with me,” says our Strategy VP Robin, who swears by the platform that’s been nicknamed “meditation for skeptics.” “My favorite features are the sleep-focused meditations, which really help me tune out the noise of the day, especially during this crazy year. The app also includes great talks by notable thought-leaders, which I like to listen to on walks.”
